Green Fleet Management
|
Greener fleet management is about minimising the environmental impacts resulting from an organisations’ transport operations, including fleet vehicles and employees using their own vehicles for business travel (the ‘grey’ fleet).
Our clients need help in identifying and implementing cost effective solutions for reducing carbon and other emissions arising from their transport operations. STS’s fleet management and travel planning consultants can assist with:
- Transport carbon and eco 'footprinting'
- Making the business case for greener fleet management
- Vehicle allocation policies that encourage and incentivise lower CO2 vehicles
- Policies to manage the added risks, costs and environmental impacts of the ‘grey’ fleet
- Fuel monitoring and driver training programmes
- Measures to reduce mileage
- Target setting and performance monitoring
- Communications and awareness campaigns to gain buy-in
STS members Simon Collings, Guy Hitchcock and Ben Lane are members of the EST approved panel of consultants that provides Green Fleet Reviews. Between them they have carried over 50 reviews for a wide range of clients.
STS have also worked with North Star Housing Trust to advise on managing the costs and environmental impacts of their ‘grey’ fleet and with Suffolk County Council to benchmark their business mileage and develop a business travel policy. |
