Carbon Management
STS offer support in the development of carbon management strategies, specifically looking at transport energy use and greenhouse gas emissions and measures to reduce them. We have developed a detailed carbon audit tool to help organisations quantify their transport carbon emissions. We can also advise on the most effective carbon abatement options. For example, we are active in the assessment of low carbon transport technologies and fuels with regard to lifecycle costs, operational issues, performance and emissions, including:
- Hybrid -electric vehicles
- Battery-electric vehicles
- Biodiesel

- Bioethanol
- Fuel cell vehicles

Recent experience includes work on auditing transport carbon emissions for the London Borough of Islington and work for the "National Society of Clean Air" (NSCA), "CENtre of EXcellence for low carbon and fuel technologies" (CENEX) and Department for Transport (DfT) on the application of and potential for biomethane as a road transport fuel.
